Guidelines for Elsevier’s e-journal PPV Service Fee Support for Graduate Students
There is a PPV (Pay Per View) usage fee (1000 yen per-paper) for Elsevier e-journals etc., yet it is fully subsidized when implemented by Osaka University Library. Graduate students will be able to use the PPV service free of charge up to 10 time per year.
A graduate student enrolled at OSIPP (you cannot apply while absent from school).
PPV access is limited per year to 10 times per person (equivalent to 10,000 yen).
Applicants who wish to receive a subsidy should fill out the form “PPV (Pay Per View) Application Form (Only in Japanese)「PPV(Pay Per View)利用申請書」” with “Name,” “Affiliation,” “Status / Grade,” “Osaka University Personal ID,” and the “E-mail registered on Elsevier’s site (ScienceDirect)” and submit this to their supervisor. The supervisor will fill out the usage expenses, etc., stamp and return it to the student for them to submit to the “Library- Electronic Contents Section” (Toyonaka Campus) 「総合図書館 電子コンテンツ担当 (豊 中キャンパス)」.After registering at the library, you will be notified that registration has been completed.
Log in to Elsevier’s website (ScienceDirect) with your registered account, select a group (Osaka University, Prepaid) for using prepaid PPV. The number of uses per student is subject to the subsidy (up to 10 PPV) and students are responsible for managing their usage.
