 Monday - Friday

  • Regular Semester Hours : 9:30~19:00
  • Spring,Summer and Winter Breaks : 9:30~17:00
*Closed on Saturdays,Sundays and holidays
 Temporary closures are announced each time on the website.

On library hours in the case of a weather warning being issued(for typhoon approaching)

In the case of a "storm warning"[bouhuu-keihou]or "emergency warning"[tokubetsu-keihou]being issued for Toyonaka,Suita,Ibaraki,and/or Minoh,the OSIPP Library will be closed for the day as noted below:
  • If a weather warning is issued when the OSIPP Library is open, we will close the library as soon as possible.
  • If the warning is not canceled until 9:00 a.m.,the OSIPP Library will be closed for the day.
※On clearing a weather warning, we will check broadcast on the radio,TV and internet.

Terms of Use

Bylaws Governing Use of the Osaka School of International Public Policy Library (PDF)

  • Individuals other than the faculty members and students at the OSIPP, Graduate School of Law and Politics, Graduate School of Economics, and Law School need to sign in at the counter. Please bring your ID as we will ask you to present it upon sign in.
  • External individuals who are affiliated with other universities and research institutions need to have a letter of recommendation issued by those organizations to use the library (not applicable to faculty members and graduate school students at a national university and equivalent individuals).
  • Bags and coats cannot be brought in. Please leave your belongings in a locker in the locker area located to the right of the entrance before using the library. You are responsible for own valuables.
  • Only faculty members and students of OSIPP may use the copy machines in the library. Copy cards sold at the co-op will not work on the copy machine in the library. If you wish to copy a document, please check out the material first and then use the coin-operated copy machine located in the co-op.

Library Loans

Loan Period: Aside from the Library use only materials,you can borrow most books for two weeks.As for Journals and Magazines you must return them within the day.

Reservations: If the book you want to borrow is currently on loan, you may reserve it.

Renew Loan Periods: You can renew the due date by two weeks,except for specific materials and materials on reservation.

  1. In principle, journals are released temporarily for photocopying only.
  2. Class reference materials may only be borrowed for one week (no extensions).
  3. The loan period for "new reports" in the staff corner is the same as books.
  4. The criteria for interlibrary loans depends on the lending library in question.
