This study investigates the impact of inclusive situations, especially interaction between students with and without special needs at the school, on the non-cognitive and academic skills of students without special needs. We measure the students’ interaction with information on whether students use the same shoe box as students with special needs. Our results show that more interaction from sharing a shoe box increases non-cognitive skills and Japanese test scores. These findings suggest inclusive situations positively affect student’s development.
